Eric Faulkner’s Bay City Rollers
The Bay City Rollers were worldwide teen idols. The classic line-up included Eric Faulker, Stuart John Wood. Les McKeown, Alan Longmuir and Derek Longmuir.
The band’s first hit was “Keep on Dancing”.
This song was a huge success and they then went on too making appearances on BBC One’s Top of the Pops.
The single “Remember”
increased The Bay City Roller’s popularity and they then went on to releasing a number of different singles on the UK Chart including “Shang-a-lang”
which reached number 2, “Summerlove Sensation”
falling at number 3 in the charts and “All Of Me Loves All Of You”
which reached number 4.
By 1975 The Bay City Rollers were one of the highest-selling acts in the UK and they embarked on an UK tour and a 20-week UK television series.
By the end of 1978 the band had split with Les. However they decided to continue with their band as a more new-wave, rock-oriented sound and changed their name to The Rollers.
From 2007, Eric Faulkner continued as a solo artist and appeared at The Glastonbury festival.
